Traditional spring mattresses are horrible for vehicle dwellings! They are heavy, cold (the springs conduct heat away from your body), are difficult to move due to inflexibility, and many other reasons.
Inflatable mattresses are a joke, and thin camping mats are uncomfortable (some are great, but will not last for years).
What vehicle dwellers use instead are foam mattresses. You have fold up ones (usually a tri-fold), and non-fold up mattresses. They are cheap, work amazingly well, are lightweight, extremely comfy, and easy to move. If you find a better solution, please tell me!
